Andy wasn’t afraid to join professional stunt driver Russ Swift at the Williams BMW dealership in Rochdale after winning a competition organised as part of Red Nose Day 2007.

The series of stunts took place on the forecourt of the Williams BMW dealership where on lookers watched as Andy was driven at breakneck speed and even on two wheels.

Alison Mulvey, Marketing Manager for Williams BMW said, “I was scared stiff and I didn’t even go in the car. I hope that Andy and Kate were ready for it! It was great that Williams could be part of Red Nose Day, we had already attached Giant Red Noses to all of our dealerships in Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton and Rochdale but we wanted to do more.”

Andy said: ”I was listening to the football on Saturday when I heard the competition and I thought why not?  It was amazing to be in the car with Russ, his control is superb.  I’ve got to do the school run today but I think I’ll take it a little easier than he does!”

Kate Thornton said: ”Events like this are exactly what Red Nose Day is all about.  The fact that we raised some money whilst everyone had smiles on their faces was brilliant.”

Red Nose Day is the bi-annual fundraising campaign organised by Comic Relief to raise money for projects in the UK and Africa that culminates with a star studded BBC 1 TV show on Friday 16th March.
