Stockport resident Ben Rowe, master technician at Williams Land Rover UK, is celebrating winning the much coveted Land Rover Technician of the Year award.
Over the course of 12 months, Ben (32) undertook a series of rigorous online tests as part of the gruelling award process, designed to challenge the best technicians across all 110 Land Rover UK dealerships.
After excelling during the online testing phase throughout the year, consistently scoring 80 per cent or above on every test he faced, Ben was one of five technicians who was selected to go through to the final stage of the award process at the Land Rover Academy in Warwick.
Land Rover UK set Ben and the other four remaining candidates a full day of technically difficult and meticulous practical tests consisting of diagnosing complex faults.
After a full year of tests, which were predominately completed outside of his full time role at Williams Land Rover, Ben finished fourth and was presented with a trophy at the awards dinner at Stapleford Park in Leicester.
Ben Rowe, Master Technician, said: “I am delighted to win this award and be recognised by Land Rover UK as one of the top technicians in the country.
“The process was really tough and the competition on the practical testing day was so fierce, I am proud to have achieved this accolade out of the many hundreds of technicians that applied.”
Gary Nickson, Head of Business at Williams Land Rover, commented: “Both myself and the rest of the team at Williams Land Rover are extremely proud of Ben and his achievement.
“The award is a fantastic honour for Ben and it also highlights just how high the quality is in our technical department. Well done Ben”.
