Williams BMW Supports Sedgley Park RUFC

Sedgley Park RUFC Kicks Off New Season with Williams BMW

Sedgley Park RUFC first XV players have come together for new team photos ready for the start of the season next month.

The players showed off their new kits as they proudly stood with the club’s prestigious sponsor, Williams BMW and the latest BMW X5 and BMW 7 Series.

Having finished an impressive second place in the National League 2 (North) last season, the team are showing promising form as they prepare for their first home game against Caldy on Saturday 3 September.

Geoff Roberts, CEO of First XV, said: “The sponsorship with Williams BMW has proved to be a huge success and has helped to make our club an extremely attractive facility for all our members and guests. That ‘feel good’ factor also reflects onto our First XV, finishing second in the league last season and narrowly missing out in the play-off for promotion. With this ever-increasing momentum, who knows what the future holds for this season.”

Stephen Ward, Chairman, added: “As we look towards the upcoming season, it is great to see that the club is going from strength to strength. In addition to the success we expect from our First XV this year, we are also looking to launch a new community Sporting Initiative to promote rugby into local primary schools, building on the success of the World Cup in 2015 and the 7s Tournament at the Olympics. This is furthering the work of Sedgley Park in promoting community rugby.”

Williams BMW recently transformed the Park Lane-based ground with new branded signage, score boards as well as new playing jerseys and travel shirts for the first team, featuring the company’s logo.

In addition, the main sponsor refurbished Sedgley Park’s hospitality areas, creating a luxury Williams BMW suite which can be used during home games and also hired for functions outside of the season.

Franchise director at the Williams Group, Jason Almond, commented: “We wish Sedgley Tigers the very best of luck for the new season and we look forward to witnessing many victories at the ground.”
