£2,406.60 Raised By Williams MINI In Virtual Bike Ride For Maggie's

Staff and customers teamed up to show their 'Pedal Power' on exercise bikes across our Williams MINI showrooms to raise vital funds for Maggie's, everyone's home of cancer care.

Our virtual bike ride over the weekend of 28-30 July was part of our continued support of Maggie's, helping to generate essential funds to help Maggie's continue supporting those going through cancer and their families.

The challenge saw our Williams retail centres competed against each other to see which team can clock the most miles on the static bike over the weekend. The Bike ride was one part of the MINI Big Love project- a way to inspire and connect the MINI community through their shared experiences of the brand.

Over the last few years, We have raised over £35,000 for Maggie's. This year, across the five locations and Head Office we raised £2,406.60, cycling 1,488.6 miles in the process. Our Rochdale centre cycled the most miles with an impressive 421.7 miles, however it was our Liverpool centre that raised the most money with £647.

“Raising money for Maggie’s is an important way for Williams to celebrate the MINI Big Love project to create happiness from this great iconic brand,” said Alexandra Cook, development director at Williams Group. “Our virtual bike ride over the weekend has delivered on our pledge to support this community-based charity and deliver lots of fun for our staff and customers who come and support us.”

Robin Muir, centre head at Maggie’s Manchester, said, “As part of their ongoing commitment to Maggie’s, the Williams team are constantly coming up with fun, creative ways to raise funds for us. I’ve no doubt the virtual bike rides will be the centrepiece in their automotive retail centres, and they will encourage staff and customers to join in. We appreciate everything their staff and customers do for us and really enjoy their approach to supporting our work in the most imaginative ways possible.”

Thank you to everyone that donated to Maggie's and got on the bike and pedalled for the charity.
