New Jaguar XE Prestige

The Jaguar XE Prestige epitomises modern motoring luxury. An elegantly sculpted body conceals a first-class cabin which brings together premium materials and cutting edge equipment. This is all enjoyed even before you pull away, when you do, the saloon's appeal is only heightened.

Exterior

The XE is the smallest in the model family, it is instantly recognisable as a Jaguar just by looking at the determined front fascia. Slim headlamps flank a rectangular gloss black grille with chrome surround. Chrome side power vents complement this subtle detail, as do the 17-inch silver alloy wheels. A power bulge bonnet and doors give a sense of dynamism and movement to the sculpted body.

Interior

On the inside there are even more first-rate features. The Prestige includes 'Taurus' heated leather seats with contrast-coloured stitching plus brushed aluminium veneers. Jaguar-branded tread plates welcome you into the cabin, and interior mood lighting sets the tone for every journey. The XE carries five people in comfort with generous amounts of legroom in the back and a 455-litre boot capacity.

Technology

The XE is one of the best-equipped cars in the class so all versions come with Jaguar's InControl Touch infotainment system as standard. You can connect your smartphone to the system's eight-inch colour touchscreen and access apps when on the move. It also brings climate, audio and satellite navigation functions into one place, and enables you to control them through voice prompts alone. InControl Protect, an advanced technology that automatically calls the emergency services in the event of an accident, is also a standard feature.

Engines and performance

Fitted to the XE Prestige's lightweight aluminium frame is your preferred engine from a choice of two diesels and one petrol. The combination of a light, rigid and stable platform with a 2.0-litre 163PS turbocharged petrol powertrain results in thrilling acceleration and excellent driver control. The diesel options include Jaguar's 2.0-litre i4 engine with 163PS or 180PS. A rewarding 75mpg combined is returned by the 163PS diesel when partnered with a six-speed manual gearbox and has low C02 emissions of 99g/km.

Safety

Reassuring safety performance cements the XE's attraction for many buyers. Autonomous Emergency Braking automatically brakes if you fail to react to an imminent collision in time, while lane departure warning alerts you if the car begins to stray from its lane through a loss of concentration. This intelligent technology is included as standard alongside Hill Launch Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.
