Mini Motability

Established in 1978, the government-funded Motability Scheme has been bringing mobility and independence to disabled motorists for over 30 years. Following confirmation of your eligibility for the Scheme, you will be entitled to a new MINI vehicle with us every three years, or a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) every five years.

As part of the Motability Scheme, MINI offers its range of vehicles for Motability customers to choose and adapt to their needs. At Williams MINI, we have experienced Motability specialists on-site, ready to discuss Motability options with you. Make a commitment-free appointment with us today if you would like us to help you in this area.

Available MINI models applicable to the Scheme include the 3 and 5-door Hatchback models, the MINI Countryman, the MINI Clubman, the MINI Convertible and the MINI Paceman. Visit your local Williams MINI centre to view our available MINI cars, and to select the model of your choice.

Under the Motability Scheme, you will be entitled to included insurance, breakdown assistance, servicing, maintenance, and repairs. We will also undertake adaptations for you, in order to fully personalise the vehicle to your requirements. These can include modifications to the steering wheel or floor pedals to make them easier to access and operate, additional storage space for important equipment, or swivel seats and hoists for easy access. The majority of these adaptations can be made at no cost to you, with the remainder available at a reduced cost under the Scheme.

Two named drivers can be included as part of your Motability agreement, with the option of choosing a third driver at an additional cost. This enables Motability customers who cannot drive to still be eligible for a vehicle, by selecting drivers who are able to operate the vehicle in their place.

Eligibility for the Motability Scheme is granted to you by exchanging your government-funded mobility allowance for the service. To apply for the Motability Scheme, you must be currently receiving any of the following: the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA); the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP); the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS); or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). You must also have at least 12 months' benefit remaining to you in order to apply.

Contact Williams Group today if you have any enquiries relating to the Motability Scheme. We are happy to answer your questions, and are dedicated to helping you find the vehicle that is perfectly suited to you.
