New BMW M6 Convertible

One of the most exciting motoring experiences is open-top driving, which the inspiring new BMW M6 Convertible delivers alongside breathtaking motorsport performance. The luxury model is also comfortable and supportive when cruising through town, while its striking styling attracts attention wherever you travel.

Design

The M6 Convertible and standard 6 Series Convertible share an almost identical look but with a number of racing-inspired details separating the M-badged example from its sibling. Aggressive air intakes dominate the front bumper below a characteristic two-part kidney-shaped grille finished with a chrome frame. Unique alloy wheels sit over painted and M-branded brake callipers, and the rear gets a quad exhaust set-up as evidence of the model's raw power. With the roof closed the Convertible takes on a coupé-like profile, and when open its poised stance is accentuated. Folds in the panels streak from front to back for a sense of rapid forward motion at any speed.

Inside, the cabin exudes exclusivity and refinement through the use of premium materials, including stitched leather for the seats, dashboard and doors. This complements the various other interior options you can select through BMW Individual, such as fine grain wood inlays or sophisticated brushed aluminium. Every surface has been crafted not just for excellence but ergonomics too, and the overall arrangement is angled towards the driver's seat to place all key functions exactly where you expect to find them. Open the roof to savour the throaty engine sound or close it for comfortable and quiet cruises.

Technology

Connecting and engaging you on every journey is BMW's generous amount of standard technology. Details of many functions are shown on the 10.2-inch Control Display which sits at the head of the dashboard. Directions from the BMW Professional Navigation system are seen here, as is information from the DAB digital radio. With BMW Online Services you can connect to the internet to view the weather forecast or read emails, while enhanced Bluetooth® with voice control keeps you connected to the people that matter. Command of all these features is simple and safe through the iDrive Touch Controller which you can adjust with one hand and by touch alone.

Performance

Rampant acceleration comes from the M6 Convertible's M TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder engine which combines 680Nm of maximum torque and a superb 560bhp. The unit responds instantly when power is demanded, whether at a high or low rev, and surges onwards to a top speed of 155mph. The 0-60mph sprint is completed in around 4.3 seconds, yet with BMW EfficientDynamics on board systems of automatic start/stop and brake energy regeneration help to deliver a class-leading performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio. Advanced seven-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic contributes to this refined output, as it boasts traction-optimised automatic gear selection to get the best from the powertrain.

Safety

Reassuringly high levels of safety are delivered by the Convertible to give you peace of mind in any conditions. The body is highly rigid and combines with an efficient restraint system to hold you and your passengers securely. They're further supported by various active technologies which work to keep you in command and reduce the chance of incidents occurring. One example is Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) which prevents oversteer or understeer when enabled, and you can switch it off for unrestrained output on the track. Meanwhile the standard head-up display projects important vehicle details onto the windscreen, so your eyes stay fixed on the route ahead.

The M6 Convertible promises big things, and you can experience it all with a test drive from Williams BMW. Enquire with your nearest centre to arrange one soon – we are located across the North of England.
