BMW K 1600 GT Sport

The BMW K 1600 GT Sport is more than just a capable Gran Turismo bike. The name also stands for power, comfort and excitement for all fortunate enough to own the model. It shares the same admirable traits with the non-sport sibling, yet adds greater athleticism through a reworked design and styling.

While the GT Sport shares the same profile with the standard GT, the two are easily distinguished from the first glance. The former gets sophisticated black gloss wheels to match the pillion grab rails, which help the Sakhir orange paint finish stand out clearly. New graphics feature on the fairing and panniers too, while the windscreen has been lowered for a sleek shape. The ride position remains ergonomic and extremely comfortable, helped by an adjustable seat that ensures riders of varying heights are catered for.

For a touch of luxury the seat is also heated – as are the grips – with other premium features including the Xenon headlight, LED indicators and tail-light, and preparation for an audio system with Bluetooth® connectivity.

Leading the charge is a six-cylinder water-cooled petrol engine that produces 158bhp and 175Nm of torque. With the help of a six-speed gearbox all this power and torque means a top speed of over 125mph and excellent throttle response to help you get there. Duolever front forks and Paralever rear suspension absorb the bumps for a more relaxing ride, and you can adjust the rear damping to suit changing conditions. There's also a choice of three power modes in Road, Rain and Dynamic which alter the performance set-up for each individual journey.

Safety and Technology

The bike's advanced technology contributes to much more than simply a thrilling experience when on the road, as it also helps you to remain safe. An Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) keeps you in command when slowing and stopping, with tyre pressure control warning when the wheels have dangerously low levels of air. There's also a pioneering adaptive headlight fitted at no extra cost which automatically turns the lamp to compensate for the bike's banking angle, illuminating more of the road.

The BMW K 1600 GT Sport is designed for the touring enthusiast who wants head turning looks to match dynamic performance, and you can sample the ride with the help of Williams Motorcycles. Contact our expert team in Manchester for more information on the model.
