New BMW R nineT

Motorcycle trends may change, but the passion for two-wheel motoring remains as strong as ever. The BMW R nineT has been engineered for the purist, as you'll see from your very first glance, while its custom potential enables the model to become your very own.

BMW R nine T

Clean, uncluttered, and simple, the design of the R nineT mirrors the uncomplicated appeal of riding. This refined boxer is unique and eye-catching, yet also unmistakably a product of the BMW brand. Classic styling cues are seen in the circular headlight which sits in front of a brushed aluminium fuel tank. The same premium material is also used to craft the accessory seat hump, intake ducts, handlebar clamp and fork yokes as evidence of BMW's uncompromising design approach. At the cockpit a digital display sits alongside traditional clocks as a nod to the brand's 90 years of heritage, and demonstrates BMW's careful attention to detail.

To satisfy the most passionate enthusiast the R nineT offers a host of modification opportunities, so you can shape the finish to your individual tastes. This includes the removable rear frame and silencers, plus space for six-inch rims. Black storm metallic is the sole paint finish, a fitting choice that upholds the model's strong sense of sophistication.

The powerplant fitted here is a 1,170cc four-stroke petrol shared with the R 1200 R roadster and the R 1200 GS. The unit produces 108bhp and 119Nm of torque so there's plenty of muscle when the throttle turns, and a low weight of just 222kg means excellent acceleration from a standing start. Unlike other BMW Motorrad models the R nineT has no choice of ride modes, just a single, thrilling experience.Move up through the six-speed gearbox and a satisfying growl is heard from the exhaust. When cornering the handling is also light and responsive for a sportier feel than the retro styling suggests.

Safety and Technology

As expected BMW has included its Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with the R nineT to help you avoid an incident should you need to brake heavily. The usual dual rear discs and single front disc brakes remain, and also boost the bike's stopping ability in any conditions. In low light the daytime running light makes sure you're seen by other motorists, while the optional anti-theft alarm system gives extra assurance when you leave the boxer.

There's much more to admire about the R nineT, all of which can be explored with Williams Motorcycles in Manchester. Contact our team online, over the phone or directly in person for details and to schedule a test ride.
