Exterior

Gloss black bonnet vents and side sills are the first hints at the model's darker atmosphere. Quad exhaust pipes in tandem with the Switchable Active Sports Exhaust show the power of the engine within. The F-TYPE convertible is topped with a folding roof, which can be folded at up to 30mph and takes 12 seconds to operate.

Interior

The 'R' interior theme creates an individual, premium atmosphere inside the convertible. Full, durable leather upholstery with a double-stitch finish covers the sports seats and flat-bottomed steering wheel. An aluminium weave across the centre console creates a stylish, tactile surface.

Add your own touches to the F-TYPE's personality through the Jaguar customisation programme. The options are comprehensive, with a vast array of materials and colours available. F-TYPE accessories also include smart, lightweight carbon fibre caps for the door mirrors and handles.

Technology

Safety has been as strong a consideration as style and engineering throughout the car's design. All F-TYPE convertible models are fitted with rollover protection bars – in R models, they have a Gloss Black finish to match the exterior. Torque Vectoring by Braking comes to the R version, sensing understeer in cornering and redistributing torque to the rear wheels. This clever system is joined by blind spot monitoring and a helpful reversing camera.

The 'Dynamic-i' display in the cabin enables you to access a configurable Dynamic Mode for the convertible. The convertible's adaptable engineering and suspension make the most of the engine's exciting power. In the cabin, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation and a USB-compatible audio system are infotainment technologies you'll appreciate on every journey.

Performance

When a Jaguar model has 'R' in the name, you can expect track-inspired engineering to match its athletic looks. The F-TYPE R Convertible is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that generates a stunning 550PS and 680Nm of torque. Gear shift paddles in bright silver are mounted at the steering wheel for the eight-speed automatic transmission. It takes no more than four seconds to accelerate to 60mph from a standstill.
