Two new bikes will be entering the BMW Motorrad line up, the dynamic F 900 R Roadster and the sporty F 900 XR Adventure. And we want to invite you to Williams BMW Motorrad Manchester to be among the first people to ride them between Friday 14 February and Sunday 16 February 2020.
The pair are Motorrad's latest additions and both bikes share the same in-line twin-cylinder engine thats origins can be traced back to the earlier F 850 GS adventure. The engines have had the displacement increased to 895cc for these new mid-range bikes and that bump in size brings the power to 107hp. The peak torque remains the same at 92Nm at 6,500rpm.
The bikes frames are steel bridge frames similar to that used in the F 850 GS and F 750 GS. Much like the aforementioned bikes, the engine acts as a stress-bearing element to optimise weight reduction and mass centralisation. The F 900 XR will have a 15.5-litre fuel tank and F 900 R will get a 13-litre. Another key difference is the suspension travel. The F 900 XR is designed as a sports adventure bike and as such, the suspension travel is set to 170mm (front) and 172mm (rear) whereas the F 900 R Roadster has less with 135mm (front) and 142mm (rear)
An element that both bikes share is the latest 6.5-inch TFT screen with BMW Motorrad Connectivity. The bikes will also come with two rider modes as standard, road and rain, as well as ABS and ASC both being included as standard safety features. The option to add Rider Modes Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and engine drag torque control (MRS) is also available.

This is a rider’s tour, taking in some of the Picos, Asturias and Portugal's most challenging and rewarding mountain passes and roads. You’ll be treated to some long, twisty and swooping riding days that will be remembered for a very long time. The Picos are blessed with empty roads for you to enjoy.
You'll start with an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Santander. A late afternoon arrival means a quick 75 miles to to take us high into the Picos. Our hotel is in the small village and the bikes will be carefully guarded by the resident St Bernard's - If they wake up! Our first full days ride is through the twists and turns of the Picos and Asturias Mountains heading for our small hotel in the hills overlooking the Sil Valley in the heart of Galicia where you can soak the miles away in the Jacuzzi or steam room.
From here you are heading to our Quinta on the banks of the River Douro in the Douro Basin. Our home for the next two nights you can either relax in the heart of the vineyard or enjoy the loop ride we have planned covering 200 miles of exquisite roads taking you into the Douro International Natural Park and returning to our hotel along the banks of the river itself. At the centre of Portugal's most highly regarded wine producing region, our hotel has plenty to offer. We have included a wine tasting while you are here so you will know what to choose with dinner.
Heading north again now the days are packed with more great roads, sweeping and swooping and heading to the Sierra De Montesinho Natural Park en route to Pubela de Sanabria. We are starting to head home now but there is still more great riding in the Asturias and Picos Mountains with our final two nights on Spanish soil in Paradors. Even our last day in Spain still has lots of riding on offer. With an evening departure there are still 200 miles of great Picos riding to be enjoyed, before you roll in to Santander tired but thrilled and ready to relax on the ferry for the cruise home.
