Over six decades ago, designer John Cooper created a sportier version of the classic Mini, achieving instant success on racetracks and rally courses worldwide. The name was further solidified with three victories at the Monte Carlo Rally in the 1960s. Since then, John Cooper Works has continued to bring this racing heritage to traditional MINI models, blending performance with legacy.
With the new all-electric MINI John Cooper Works models, we are bringing the legendary performance and driving dynamics of MINI into a completely new era. We are combining the tradition and character of the MINI brand with the latest technology to create a unique driving experience that will thrill our customers.

Unveiled at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman mark the first fully electric models in the iconic JCW line-up, continuing the legacy of performance and distinctive characteristics that define the John Cooper Works name.
Model | Max Power (hp) | Peak Torque (Nm) | Acceleration (0-62mph) | Top Speed (mph) | Electric Range (WLTP) |
MINI John Cooper Works Electric | 258* | 340 | 5.9 Seconds | 124 | 251 |
MINI John Cooper Works Aceman | 258* | 340 | 6.4 Seconds | 124 | 243 |
Both the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman deliver 340Nm of torque from their 54.2kWh batteries and reach a top speed of 124mph. The MINI John Cooper Works Electric sprints from 0 to 62mph in 5.9 seconds, while the Aceman achieves it in 6.4 seconds.
To further enhance power delivery, engineers have introduced an all-new electric boost function, providing an extra 20kW of motor power when the John Cooper Works mode is activated via a rocker switch on the steering wheel. This boost enables both models to reach 258hp.
Optimised for the signature MINI go-kart handling, new John Cooper Works-specific suspension ensures maximum agility, while high-performance grip tyres come standard, delivering stable and responsive handling across both electric models.
The exterior design of the new John Cooper Works variants builds on the design language of the standard model while showing a more aggressive appearance. The red, white, and black John Cooper Works logo – inspired by the chequered flag of motorsport – offers a nod to racing heritage, while a gloss black trim is standard across the model. Black side skirts, aeroblades at C-pillar level and a rear spoiler optimise aerodynamics, while red vertical reflectors and diffusers contrast with the rear black apron.
Aerodynamically optimised wheel designs in black with red accents are available exclusively for the all-electric models, with 18” for the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and 19” for the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman offered as standard. Chili Red brake callipers sporting a white JCW logo and a Chili Red roof are standard, while a John Cooper Works specific multi-tone black to red roof is available optionally.
The signature black and red John Cooper Works (JCW) colour scheme carries over into the interior, where a black and red pattern adorns the knitted dashboard surface. The driver and front passenger seats are upholstered in black synthetic leather, featuring multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders and red accent stitching. As a JCW-exclusive touch, ambient lighting illuminates the headlining, adding to the sporty atmosphere.
At the heart of the cabin is a high-resolution 24cm circular OLED display, which controls all key functions, including vehicle data, air conditioning, media, phone, and navigation. The new MINI Experience Modes - Vivid, Core, Green, Timeless, Balance, Go Kart, and Personal - allow for a fully customisable interior ambiance, enhancing the personalized feel of the driving experience.
