Williams chose the hugely popular Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run event to unveil the highly anticipated BMW i5.
The event, which Williams are the title sponsor of, was selected for its route in the countryside and the bustling historic town centre - environments where the BMW brand's commitment to sustainable driving could be showcased. The i5 embodies BMW's commitment to green driving, highlighting the brand's dedication to innovation and leadership in the electric vehicle market.
Over 1,100 runners had the opportunity to witness its eye-catching presence on Rochdale Town Hall Square. Displayed on The Esplanade, the stylish vehicle drew admiring glances from runners and spectators.
Scott Cunningham, Head of Business at Williams Rochdale, joined by William the Bear, the Williams mascot and Janet Emsley, Deputy Leader of Rochdale Borough Council, presented the prizes next to the stunning vehicle which offers an unparalleled blend of style, performance, and marks a significant milestone in the evolution of sustainable driving.
Scott, who ran the 10K along with a team of his colleagues from the Williams BMW Gorrels Way retail centre, said it was a fantastic day: "We are very proud to be involved with an event that helps raise money for so many good causes, including our chosen charity, Maggie's. The first public display of the new, all-electric BMW i5 caused a real buzz – it's set to redefine the electric vehicle landscape, and we were delighted with the response we received from passers-by on the day."
