The Jaguar XF has been updated for 2019 with the introduction of a range of new RED2-Compliant diesel engine. This makes it the first executive saloons to meet the upcoming emissions regulation changes even though they aren’t due to become mandatory until January 2021.
Jaguar is hoping the move will get them ahead of the curve by making its Jaguar XF Saloon and Sportbrake more appealing to fleet and business buyers and company car drivers. It could result in company car drivers saving a significant amount of money by avoiding a 4% benefit-in-kind surcharge affecting non-compliant diesel cars as well as save private buyers money on the first-year vehicle excise duty.
The Chequered Flag Special Edition trim level, first seen on the F-TYPE to celebrate Jaguar’s sporting history, will feature a selection of unique exterior and interior details as well as lots of extra equipment as standard.
You can expect a set of 18-inch black alloy wheels, a more aggressive looking front bumper, a boot spoiler and a black styling pack as standard on the Jaguar XF Chequered Flag Special Edition. You will also find a set of subtle Chequered Flag badges in the side vents and three metallic paint colours all included in the price.
Climb inside and there a number of unique styling changes here as well. Chequered Flag treadplates are the first thing you’ll notice when opening the door. The interior trim is finished in a dark hex aluminium and the seats are covered in R-Sport full leather that comes in all black or black and red.
Inside is also where you’ll find all the new tech. The upgraded Navigation Pro with InControl Connected Pro gives drivers live traffic updates to avoid traffic jams for a smoother journey. Other features of the InControl Connected Pro include Car Parking Availability and Fuel pricing Information. Further features include the upgraded 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display and Keyless Entry.
If that wasn’t enough new tech, all the 2019 models will now include a new Smartphone Pack that comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto TM. This technology mirrors the driver’s smartphone and lets them access a selection of apps from the cars 10-inch Touchscreen display to stream music and make calls.
The Jaguar XF Chequered Flag models are available with a choice of Jaguar engines. Alongside the new DEE2-Compliant diesel offerings are a range of petrol units that can be paired with either a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD) power train. The combinations include:
Diesel
