This sleek car bears all the hallmarks you’d expect from a coupé. The driver is provided with plenty of seating and steering wheel adjustment options, which means that establishing a comfortable position should take no time at all. And don’t be deceived by the car’s two-door body because the BMW Series 4 Coupé seats four adults, making it more practical than many of its rivals. There’s even room for a 445-litre luggage compartment.
The 4 Series is certainly no slouch in the performance stakes, even where entry-level trims are concerned. For example, a 2.0-litre 184bhp petrol engine delivers 290Nm of torque, 0-60mph in a little more than seven seconds and a top speed of 146mph. Offering yet more potency is a 3.0-litre 313bhp diesel unit, which produces a peak torque of 630Nm, 0-60mph in roughly 4.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 155mph. A happy power-and-efficiency medium is reached when a 2.0-litre 190bhp diesel engine is installed beneath the bonnet. Not only does this four-cylinder unit deliver 400Nm of torque and 0-60mph in approximately seven seconds, it returns up to 60.1mpg, while producing CO2 emissions as low as 118g/km.
Included as standard is a six-speaker stereo, featuring an FM/AM tuner, DAB digital radio and a full-colour touchscreen display. Whenever you want to access your own library of music, you’ll find the cabin’s AUX and USB ports to be most useful. What’s more, Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy to stream audio content from your compatible devices – and enjoy hands-free telephone communication.
