Running Towards Rochdale's Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run in 2023.

We’re warming up for Rochdale’s “sporting event of the year”, where the historic town hosts an annual half marathon, 10K and one-mile fun run – all taking place on Sunday 8th October, 2023.

Williams Rochdale BMW are the proud title sponsors of the event that has been running for seven years, in partnership with Rochdale Harriers, Middleton Harriers, Rochdale Triathlon Club and Rochdale Borough Council.

The sporting event has already raised tens of thousands of pounds for its official charities:

  • Maggie's Manchester
  • Springhill Hospice
  • Jolly Josh.

With over 800 sign-ups for the 8th October already, we are anticipating more being raised at this eagerly-awaited event.

Councillor Janet Emsley, cabinet member for events and deputy leader at Rochdale Borough Council said: “Whether it’s our one mile, 10K or the half, we all have the potential to raise vital cash for really deserving causes. Every pound makes a difference and entrants are welcome to run for Springhill, Jolly Josh, Maggie’s or another of their choice. Running for charity does give you that extra motivation, both on the day and during training. Your efforts make a real difference to the charity you are helping and for many it can be a way to say thank you on behalf of a charity that may have assisted a member of your family or a friend.”

There’s still time to sign up, if you’re interested in participating in any of the three events click the button below!

Williams Rochdale BMW’s Head of Business, Scott Cunningham, said: “We know the impact that the pandemic has had on charity fundraising so hopefully we can encourage more to run for a good cause. Exercise is proven to benefit mental health and this event is the perfect opportunity to lace up your running shoes and enjoy a fantastic morning out. Our commitment to the town is demonstrated with this sponsorship which embeds the Williams family business into the community. I wish all participants luck with their training and we can’t wait to see you all on the start line this autumn.”

The three runs start and finish on The Esplanade in Rochdale’s town centre, close to the beautiful world-famous town hall.
