Designed from the ground up as a fully electric sports saloon, the new i3 blends innovation, performance and sustainability like never before with up to 562 miles from a single charge.
True to BMW’s DNA, the new i3 delivers an engaging driving experience. Advanced chassis technology, precise handling and near-perfect weight distribution ensure that it remains every inch a driver’s car—only now with instant electric torque and near-silent performance.
The sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology introduces:
This ensures the i3 offers both everyday usability and exhilarating performance.
The Neue Klasse platform brings significant advancements in electric technology. The new BMW i3 features:
These innovations allow drivers to spend less time charging and more time enjoying the road ahead.
The new BMW i3 stands out for its excellent suitability for long journeys. Its range is up to 562 miles (in accordance with the WLTP test cycle). DC charging capacities of up to 400 kW also drastically reduce charging times. The DC fast charger can recharge energy for up to 250 miles in 10 minutes (in accordance with ISO 12906 in the WLTP cycle). Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology provides the prerequisites for this rapid progress. It comprises highly efficient electric motors, 800-volt technology and new high-voltage batteries with new round cells. The cell-to-pack design used enables high energy densities at pack level and a flatter high-voltage battery. The BMW i3 also features the bidirectional charging functions Vehicle-to-Load (optional AC charging Professional required), Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid charging functions.
Production of the new BMW i3 will take place at BMW Group Plant Munich, with series production scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.
The facility itself is being transformed into a state-of-the-art electric vehicle production hub, underlining BMW’s long-term commitment to electrification.
The BMW i3 is more than just a new model—it’s the beginning of a new era. As part of the Neue Klasse, it sets the benchmark for the next generation of BMW vehicles, combining sustainability, innovation and driving pleasure in one compelling package.
